Tulasi means the 'one who cannot be compared' in Sanskrit and is so called also because of its spiritual, medical and religious significance. Raam Tulasi has big light green, while Shyama Tualasi has small dark green leaves. According to Ayurveda eating of Tulasi leaves on a regular basis balances the entire bodily system and also gives longevity.
