Shri Radhe Maa - Leela-Amrut - Arrest and release in Hong Kong

Shri Radhe Maa - Vachan Amrut
Officer inexplicably releases devotee arrested for driving with Indian license
By Sanjeev Gupta

Mamtamai Shri Radhe Maa was in Hong Kong granting darshan to devotees, and I was part of her entourage. I was arrested by an upright police officer of Chinese origin for driving on their roads without a Hong Kong license. The officer was very tired from long hours of work.  He spoke very little English and was and had not slept for 48 hours. I had broken the law and the officer wanted to ensure that I learnt my lesson.

I apologised profusely and offered to pay up the fine. But the officer said he would have to arrest me. The law would take its course. I could say what I wished to when he produced before a magistrate the next day. It was 6 pm. I did not want to spend the night behind bars in a strange country but there was nothing I could do. I was escorted to an underground cellar where I was put behind bars. I was worried. The police seized my money, passport and other papers.

When Devi Maa heard the news of my arrest, she insisted on accompanying my family to the police station. Members of my family tried to reason with Devi Maa. The police station was no place for her.  Devi Maa remained unmoved. “My devotee is in trouble. We are bound together, good times or bad. I have to be there for him.”

At the police station, my family spoke to a subordinate of the officer who had arrested me. The man advised the group against talking to the officer. I had no clue about what was happening. I kept praying.  I knew Devi Maa would ensure I was released. I did not however know when that would happen.

Then at around 2.30 am, I saw the officer who had arrested me at the door of the cell. “Here, sign this bond and leave. I don’t know why I am letting you go but I want to sleep now. When I close my eyes, I keep thinking about you. Leave!” he said.

I obeyed him and left quickly because I did not want him to change his mind. Over eight hours had passed since my arrest. I thanked Devi Maa as I climbed the steps of the cellar. My faith in Devi Maa had borne fruit. My prayers had been answered by her unfailing grace. As I walked out free, I saw relief on the faces of my family members. I appeared before the magistrate the next day and apologized for breaking the law. I was made to pay a fine and let off.

Shri Radhe Maa Leela Amrut - Gift of sight

Shri Radhe Maa – Leela Amrut - Gift of sight

Mamtamai Shri Radhe Maa’s grace restores sight lost during pregnancy

By Sanjeev Gupta

Rajeev Gupta's story: It is a tradition in our community for a married daughter of the house to deliver in her paternal home. It was no different when my sister Monika Mour was expecting. She was entrusted to our care by her marital family in keeping with custom. All was well for the first six months. Then, in her seventh month, she vomited rather violently and discovered later that she could not see at all with her right eye. We took her to an ophthalmologist friend. The good doctor, a devotee of Devi Maa, said that if it had not been for Devi Maa’s grace, she could have lost sight in both her eyes. Her cornea was damaged due to a blood clot. An eye hemorrhage is how he described it. Because Monika was well into her pregnancy, the doctor said he could not give her any medication. He told us that he could not so post delivery either because she would be breastfeeding.

Shri Radhe Maa

We were worried for my sister and also felt answerable to her husband and other members of her family. After all, she had been fine when she left her house. We prayed to Devi Maa who told us to stop worrying. She asked us to expect a miracle within two months of the delivery and Monika would be able to see clearly. Once those words were uttered, we had no reason to be concerned any more. It was not different with Monika. She surrendered completely to Devi Maa. She knew she would do just fine.

My sister delivered. Mother and child were both fine. Again, in keeping with tradition, she remained with us for around five weeks following the delivery. One morning, about a month-and-a-half after the delivery, my sister woke up with her eyesight completely restored.

The doctor agreed with us that it was a miracle. We know it was so, because we had been long enough in Devi Maa’s seva to know that nothing is impossible for her. Unquestioning faith and patience and a feeling of gratitude is all it takes.

Shri Radhe Maa - Divine anger management

Shri Radhe Maa - Shobha Yatra
How Devi Maa’s grace averted a life-threatening situation
By Sanjeev Gupta

Rajeev Gupta's story: I own a construction business in Mumbai. We own a plot in Kandivli, which is located in the western suburbs of the city. As land is at a premium in India's commercial capital, the danger of encroachment is ever-present. Last year, I received a call that told me that some miscreants had begun erecting illegal structures on the plot. I rushed to the spot with a friend without informing anyone in the family. I thought I would with Devi Maa's blessings resolve the issue on my own.

When I reached the site, I found a crowd of over 150 people busily erecting shelters on the land. I walked up to them and asked them what they were up to. Some people in the crowd got abusive and began threatening me. I sensed that the situation could turn ugly at any point. I tried to reason with them but my arguments made them angrier by the minute. My poor friend was so terrified that he fled leaving me alone to fend for myself.

While I was mulling over the situation, my brother Sanjeev was offering charan seva (pressing Devi Maa's feet) to Devi Maa. She asked him where I was. He told her that I must be 'around'. She insisted that Sanjeev call me. When I received his call, I simply asked him to call me later. I did not want him to worry. However, before I could keep the phone Devi Maa gestured to him. She wanted to speak to me. I heard her voice over the phone.
"Do not switch off the phone. Just keep it in your pocket," she said.
I followed her instructions.

Strangely, the angry crowd began dispersing. A few seconds later, the few people that remained began dismantling the structures. I could see that they were as angry as they had been earlier but they were no longer confronting me. I looked in wonder as in a matter of minutes the encroachers vacated the plot.

I can't explain what exactly happened that day but I do know that Devi Maa had intervened as she always does when devotees are in trouble and warded off a potentially dangerous situation.

Shri Radhe Maa - Outer appearance and inner worth

Shri Radhe Maa - Shobha Yatra

Mamtamai Shri Radhe Maa’s outer form is the result of the loving
shringar offered to her by devotees as a mark of their bhakti

By Sanjeev Gupta

Some seekers, skeptics and curious bystanders who see Devi Maa's Swaroop in public for the first time raise doubts about her divinity. This is particularly true of people who have not had Devi Maa's Darshan or attended her Chowkis. Some comment on her beauty, others remark on her choice of ornaments, dress and makeup. Devotees except when they are greatly provoked rarely respond to such remarks because they are too busy expressing their gratitude to Devi Maa.

Some such remarks tend to find their way to social media pages maintained by me as part of my seva.

With the news of Devi Maa's Shobha Yatra on 31st March in Punjab becoming public, the same old questions are being asked again. One question in particular keeps popping up at regular intervals: How can someone so richly ornamented be holy? After all, such doubters argue, holiness is inclined to simplicity. Wearing saffron is holy, ash-smeared bodies are holy, so are flowing robes. Holy people give discourses. Devi Maa does not appear to subscribe to any of their prejudices and this tends to get them all worked up.

Shri Radhe Maa
While Devi Maa herself honors’ several men and women who wear saffron, smear ash and give discourses, she is herself attired resplendently when she grants darshan. She teaches us to be respectful of all who have offered their lives for God. The least among them, Devi Maa says, is better than us. However, she herself speaks little and blesses through her all-seeing eyes or Drishti.

As for the shringar, it is my sister, wife, mother and other women in my family who offer shringar on most days to Devi Maa. They believe that the act of offering shringar to Devi Maa protects their husbands and families. My sister says that it is strange that people who love to dress, wear ornaments and look beautiful should force their ideas of holiness on Devi Maa. Why, she asks, should Devi Maa, our Ishta, be treated to any less.

We do not like to see Devi Maa in her Sati aspect but as all-giving Annapurna whose mere glance grants all desires. We are blessed to have such a wonderful mother and we like to express it too. It is her deep love for us that ensures that we do not stray from the path of virtue, prosperity and happiness. As devotees, we in turn, express our love and devotion to Devi Maa by offering shringar. This is a spiritual transaction that brings sweet bliss to the devotee.

Only devotees understand this because they are the ones that know how Devi Maa's grace and the tremendous positivity that surrounds her help them at all times.

I would request all who have questions, queries and doubts to come for Devi Maa’s Darshan because there is no praman (proof) like pratyaksh (manifest) praman. Please give us an opportunity to serve you.
Jai Mata Di.
